Goals

Professional Goals
1. My ultimate goal is to become a Certified Child Life Specialist and work in a pediatric hospital where I can support children and families throughout their hospitalization and medical experiences.
2. I hope to continue growing my skills in providing independent support, especially with procedures that are new to me, so I can adapt quickly and meet patients' needs in any setting.

3. I would also like to integrate trauma-informed care into my work as a CCLS to better support patients who are victims of abuse.

Academic Goals
1. My goal is to complete my Master of Science in Child Life at Texas Woman's University and graduate in December 2025.

2. I plan to continue my education after graduation by earning Professional Development Units (PDUs) through workshops, conferences, and online training so I can stay current with best practices in child life.

3. I would also like to pursue additional certifications and trainings, such as trauma-informed care or play-based interventions, to expand my skills to best support patients and families.

Research Goals
1. My goal as a future CCLS will be to use research on trauma-informed care to advocate for the importance of child life services when supporting patients who are victims of abuse.

2. I plan to stay engaged with new studies on coping strategies and therapeutic play so I can bring the most effective interventions into my daily practice.

3. I hope to one day contribute to child life research by collaborating on studies through presentations.
